The Blight (Talbot Grimes)
Lore Overview
Once a brilliant and ambitious chemist named Talbot Grimes, The Blight was a man obsessed with unlocking the true potential of the human mind and body through chemical enhancement. Talbot’s pursuit of scientific progress led him down a dangerous path—one that defied ethics, pushed boundaries, and ultimately shattered his sanity.
Talbot’s early experiments, although promising, were seen as dangerous and inhumane. Betrayed, used, and discarded by those who once praised his work, Talbot’s life spiraled into tragedy. His final descent came after he was lured in by a mysterious organization seeking to exploit his knowledge for darker purposes. It was in their service that he became a test subject for his own serum—a volatile compound that twisted both his mind and body beyond repair.
Now known as The Blight, Talbot roams the fog-infested realms of The Entity, his body plagued by uncontrollable convulsions and his mind lost to chemical madness. He dashes across the battlefield with unnatural speed, slamming into surfaces and unleashing devastating strikes with unmatched ferocity. What remains is a tormented shell of the man he once was—driven not by reason or purpose, but by the ruinous brilliance of his own creation.

All effects of the Hex Perk persist until its Hex Totem is cleansed or blessed.
“It would be no leap of the imagination to suggest that the Trials are a biological response of sorts.” — Journal of Talbot Grimes
