Lore Overview

Once a child chasing attention with throwing knives in his family’s restaurant, Ji-Woon Hak grew into a star who thrived on the adoration of others. Fame electrified him, but it was never enough. Every cheer, every chant of his name, only deepened his hunger for more.

When fate handed him the chance, Ji-Woon let his bandmates burn alive—frozen in place, savoring the sound of them screaming for him. To the world, he was a tragic hero, reborn as a solo act: The Trickster. But in secret, he pursued a new art form—music carved from human suffering. Victims became instruments, their shrieks and wails blended into his tracks, their pain hidden beneath melodies.

The spectacle grew bloodier, bolder, until executives tried to silence him. Ji-Woon answered with his masterpiece—an orchestrated slaughter where he conducted the screams of the dying like a symphony. At its climax, as the final notes faded, the Fog claimed him.

Now, in the Entity’s Realm, The Trickster performs for an endless audience. Each chase, each strike, each scream is part of his eternal encore—a dazzling crescendo of blood and applause.

No Way Out

You are not going to let just anyone into the VIP room.

For each Survivor you hook for the first time, No Way Out gains 1 Token.
Once the Exit Gates have been powered, No Way Out activates:

  • When a Survivor interacts with an Exit Gate Switch, you receive a Loud Noise Notification and The Entity blocks both Exit Gate Switches for 12 seconds and an additional 6/9/12 seconds per Token in your possession, up to a combined maximum of 36/48/60 seconds.

When carrying a Survivor, Starstruck activates:

Survivors suffer from the Exposed Status Effect while in your Terror Radius.
The Status Effect lingers for 26/28/30 seconds after leaving your Terror Radius.

After hooking or dropping the carried Survivor, Starstruck deactivates:

The Status Effect persists for 26/28/30 seconds for any Survivor inside your Terror Radius at that moment.

Starstruck has a cool-down of 60 seconds once the Survivor is no longer being carried.

Your anger forces Survivors to reveal themselves.

Performing the Damage Generator action on a Generator triggers Nowhere to Hide:

  • The Auras of all Survivors within 24 metres of your location are revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds.

Clown Perk

After vaulting a Window, Bamboozle calls upon The Entity to block that Window for the next 8/12/16 seconds.

  • Blocked Windows cannot be vaulted by Survivors.
  • Increases your general Vaulting speed by 5/10/15 %.

Bamboozle only blocks one Window at a time and does not apply either of its effects to vaulting Pallets.

Hillbilly Perk

You are resilient to pain.

  • Reduces the duration of Pallet Stuns by 40/45/50 %.

Enduring has no effect while carrying a Survivor.

Spirit Perk

Each obstacle you break magnifies the wrath of The Entity.

After manually breaking a dropped Pallet by any means for a total of 4/3/2 times, Spirit Fury activates:

  • Causes The Entity to instantly break the next Pallet used to stun you.
    • The normal Stun penalty applies afterwards, unless it is mitigated by other effects.

Spirit Fury deactivates after use.

At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks:

The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white.

You start the Trial with 4 Tokens on Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance.

Each time a Survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook for the first time, 1 Token is consumed and the following effects apply:

  • The Generator with the most Progression explodes and instantly regresses by 10/15/20 % of its total Progression.
  • Normal Generator Regression applies afterwards.
  • All Survivors repairing that Generator will scream, but not reveal their location.

 

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance is disabled for the remainder of the Trial once all Tokens are consumed.

Plague Perk

Your prayers invoke a dark power that meddles with the Survivors’ chances of survival.

  • At the start of the Trial, the 3 Generators located farthest from you are blocked by The Entity for 80/100/120 seconds.

Corrupt Intervention deactivates prematurely once the first Survivor is put into the Dying State.

While carrying a Survivor, they suffer from the following effects:

  • Reduces the strength of the Involuntary Strafing caused by their wiggling by -75 %.
  • Increases the time required to break free from your grasp by 4/8/12 %.

Nightmare Perk

Whenever the Obsession loses a Health State by any means, Remember Me gains +1 Token, up to a maximum of 3/4/5 Tokens:

  • Increases the Opening time of both Exit Gates by a stack-able 6 seconds per Token, up to a maximum additional Opening time of 18/24/30 seconds.
    • This results in a maximum possible Opening time of 38/44/50 seconds for both Exit Gates.

Remember Me does not apply its penalty to the Obsession, allowing them to open both Exit Gates in the default time of 20 seconds.

You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

Blight Perk

A Hex that gains the favour of The Entity when blood is spilt.

  • Whenever a Survivor loses a Health State by any means and thus enters the Injured State or the Dying State, Hex: Blood Favour calls upon The Entity to block all Pallets within 24/28/32 metres of that Survivor’s location from being pulled down for the next 15 seconds.

All effects of the Hex Perk persist until its Hex Totem is cleansed or blessed.
