The Trapper (Evan MacMillan)
Lore Overview
Evan MacMillan was born into wealth, power, and a legacy built on industry. As the only son of Archie MacMillan, owner of the vast MacMillan Estate, Evan idolised his father—not just for his status or fortune, but for the ruthless control he held over his empire. From an early age, Evan was molded into the perfect heir: obedient, strong, and utterly loyal.
Under Archie’s strict guidance, Evan learned to rule with an iron grip. Together, they kept production high and profits flowing, no matter the cost to those beneath them. The workers toiled under grueling conditions, and Evan ensured that discipline was absolute.
But behind the scenes, Archie’s mind was beginning to unravel. Paranoia, delusions, and a growing fear of betrayal clouded his judgment. And still, Evan obeyed. He shielded his father from scrutiny, silenced dissent, and carried out whatever demands were made of him—without question.
Then, Archie finally broke.
What followed was one of the darkest chapters in modern history. It’s said that Evan led over a hundred men deep into the tunnels beneath the estate—miners, workers, all loyal to the MacMillan name. And there, he sealed them in. Explosives collapsed the passages, entombing them alive. Whether Evan acted alone, or at his father’s command, remains a chilling mystery.
The incident was buried—like the victims themselves—under layers of corporate denial and missing records. No charges were ever filed. No body was ever recovered. Evan MacMillan simply vanished.
As for Archie… his story ends in madness. Found locked in the basement of one of his own warehouses, starved and forgotten, he died alone.
The tale of the MacMillan Estate is a grim reminder of how easily power can rot into monstrosity—and how loyalty, when taken to the extreme, can become a weapon sharper than any trap.

Your prayers invoke a dark power that meddles with the Survivors’ chances of survival.
- At the start of the Trial, the 3 Generators located farthest from you are blocked by The Entity for 80/100/120 seconds.
Corrupt Intervention deactivates prematurely once the first Survivor is put into the Dying State.

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance

(Strong early pressure and slowdown when used right with your birds.)
Overwhelming pain reverberates outwards.
At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks:
- The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white.
You start the Trial with 4 Tokens on Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance.
Each time a Survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook for the first time, 1 Token is consumed and the following effects apply:
- The Generator with the most Progression explodes and instantly regresses by 10/15/20 % of its total Progression.
- Normal Generator Regression applies afterwards.
- All Survivors repairing that Generator will scream, but not reveal their location.
Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance is disabled for the remainder of the Trial once all Tokens are consumed.

Grim Embrace

Your act of servitude to The Entity has not gone unnoticed.
Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, Grim Embrace gains +1 Token and activates once you are at least 16 metres away from the Hook:
- 1-3 Tokens: Blocks all Generators for 6/8/10 seconds.
- 4 Tokens: Blocks all Generators for 40 seconds and the Aura of the Obsession is revealed to you for 6 seconds.

Bear Traps sharpened with the sickly gleaming stone seem to gain a life of their own.

- You can no longer pick up any placed Bear Traps, only reset them.

Whenever the Obsession becomes injured by any means, Dark Devotion activates for 35/40/45 seconds:
- Transfers your Terror Radius to the Obsession.
- This Terror Radius is set to 40 metres.
- Grants the Undetectable Status Effect.

Trail of Torment
Executioner Perk
You guide your victims along a path of pain and punishment.
Performing the Damage Generator action on a Generator activates Trail of Torment:
- Grants the Undetectable Status Effect until the Generator stops regressing.
- The Aura of the damaged Generator is revealed to all Survivors in yellow.
Trail of Torment has a cool-down of 60/45/30 seconds.
Hex: Plaything (Fortune's Fool)
Cenobite (General) Perk
Each time you hook a Survivor for the first time, if there is at least one Dull Totem in the environment, Hex: Fortune’s Fool activates and lights a Hex Totem:
- Causes that Survivor to suffer permanently from the Oblivious Status Effect.
- Blocks their Hex Totem from being cleansed by any other Survivor for 90 seconds.
- The Aura of their Hex Totem is revealed to the Cursed Survivor within 24/20/16 metres.

A black, matte and sticky substance that when applied to Bear Traps, makes them far less noticeable.

You benefit from the following permanent effect:
- Increases your Vaulting speed by 5/10/15 %.
Whenever you vault a Window, Bamboozle calls upon The Entity for the following effect:
- Blocks it to all Survivors for 8/12/16 seconds.
- Vaulting it again within that time resets the timer.
- Vaulting a different one transfers the effect to it instead.
Bamboozle does not extend its effects to vaulting a dropped Pallet.
Enduring

You benefit from the following effect:
- Reduces the duration of Pallet Stuns by 40/45/50 %.
- This effect does not apply when stunned while carrying a Survivor.
Spirit Fury

Each obstacle you break magnifies the wrath of The Entity.
After manually breaking a dropped Pallet by any means for a total of 4/3/2 times, Spirit Fury activates:
- Causes The Entity to instantly break the next Pallet used to stun you.
- The normal Stun penalty applies afterwards, unless it is mitigated by other effects.
Spirit Fury deactivates after use.

Hex: Blood Favor

A Hex that gains the favour of The Entity when blood is spilt.
Whenever a Survivor loses a Health State by any means, Hex: Blood Favour triggers its effect:
- Blocks all upright Pallets within 24/28/32 metres of that Survivor’s location at the time for 15 seconds.
- Blocked Pallets cannot be dropped.
All Hex Effects persist until their associated Hex Totem is either cleansed or blessed.

These replacement trap jaws have saw-like blades, causing awful open wounds when they snap.
- Survivors injured by a Bear Trap suffer from the Haemorrhage Status Effect until fully healed.

- Accelerates their Sacrifice Process by 10/15/20 %.
No Way Out
Trickster Perk
You are not going to let just anyone into the VIP room.
For each Survivor you hook for the first time, No Way Out gains 1 Token.
Once the Exit Gates have been powered, No Way Out activates:
- When a Survivor interacts with an Exit Gate Switch, you receive a Loud Noise Notification and The Entity blocks both Exit Gate Switches for 12 seconds and an additional 6/9/12 seconds per Token in your possession, up to a combined maximum of 36/48/60 seconds.

Bloody Coil
Part sticky, part slippery, this grim liquid makes handling the Bear Traps spring more dangerous.
- When a healthy Survivor disarms a Bear Trap, the Bloody Coil exacts its price, putting the Survivor into the Injured State.

- Causes the Generator with the most progression to explode, damaging it.
- Instantly regresses the damaged Generator by 10/15/20 % of its total Progression.
- Causes the damaged Generator to start regressing afterwards.
- Causes all Survivors repairing the damaged Generator to scream.
- This does not trigger a Loud Noise Notification.
Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance is disabled for the remainder of the Trial once all Tokens are consumed.
