The Nurse (Sally Smithson)
Lore Overview
Sally Smithson once dreamed of a quiet, happy life in the small town where she and her husband built their home. But fate dealt her cruelty instead of kindness. When Andrew, her husband, was killed in a logging accident, Sally was left alone, with no money and no future.
Desperation drove her to the Crotus Prenn Asylum, a place few would willingly go. Without education or experience, she took the grueling night shifts, surrounded by the suffering and madness of its patients. For years she endured verbal and physical abuse, her mind breaking under the weight of two decades inside those walls.
Eventually, Sally snapped. One fateful night, when dawn came, staff discovered over fifty patients and several workers dead. Only Sally remained, rocking back and forth, her mind shattered beyond repair. She was taken into an ambulance for treatment, but it never arrived at its destination. Found crashed in the woods, the staff were all dead—Sally was gone.
Now, she drifts through the Fog as The Nurse, her breath ragged, her movement twisted by rage and torment. She flickers unnaturally across the battlefield, drawn by the gasps of the living, forever chasing a release that will never come.
